How Twitter celebrated the #Queenat90

On Thursday April 21st, the UK celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday. She received hundreds of thousands of messages on social media wishing her many happy returns, and we used Visibrain to look back on what Twitter had to say.

There were 334,583 tweets about the Queen’s birthday between April 20th at 5 pm and April 22nd at 3 pm, posted by 205,754 people.

While the 53% of birthday wishes came from the UK, the birthday of the Britian’s longest reigning monarch attracted attention from around the world. 14,7% of tweets originated from the United States, and 4,2% from Canada.

The #HappyBirthdayYourMajesty hashtag was the most common, used 233,776 times. The #Queenat90 hashtag came in second at 147,238 tweets:
