Over the past few months, Bluesky has established itself as one of the most prominent alternative platforms. Launched by X co-founder Jack Dorsey, this social network is attracting increasingly diverse communities, making it a strategic space for brands, institutions, and communications agencies.
In response to this growth, Visibrain, the social listening tool, is introducing its Bluesky monitoring module—further expanding its platform and extensive range of data sources, which already include X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Threads, Telegram, online press and blogs.
Just like on the other platforms monitored by Visibrain, setting up a monitoring topic on Bluesky follows the same process. You can analyse a wide range of topics: track conversations around your brand, your industry, your competitors, a news story, discussions about a public figure, or even a trending topic.
To create your monitoring topic, simply add all relevant keywords—these can include terms, hashtags, or account names.
For example, to monitor Netflix, you would include the brand name, its hashtag, the name of one of its series, and its Bluesky account.
Once monitoring is activated, data is collected in real time, giving you access to multiple KPIs to track your brand or organisation’s performance, as well as all mentions relating to you on Bluesky.
Notably, you can customise the monitoring period, with data updating instantly. This allows you to analyse results from the past few hours, week, month, or even year.

Using Visibrain’s filter, you can sort posts according to several criteria: number of likes, reposts, replies, followers, or publication date.

Today, political figures, media outlets, journalists, personalities, brands, and institutions are all active on Bluesky. These diverse communities offer numerous opportunities but can also pose certain risks.
Within its monitoring modules, Visibrain provides an overview of the users who have engaged in conversations around your monitoring topic. Additionally, its extensive filters allow you to refine your searches according to your specific needs.
Media coverage plays a significant role on Bluesky. Monitoring the most popular articles—those generating the highest number of likes—allows you to quickly identify the news stories capturing the most attention, whether they concern an organisation, event, personality, industry, or competitor.

Trends, competition, sensitive topics… Semantic analysis of expressions, hashtags, emojis, and sentiment is a valuable tool for decoding the tone of conversations on Bluesky.
For example, mentions related to Louis Vuitton can be categorised into several groups:
Competitors, shown in pink in the hashtag and expression clouds, such as Dior, Hermès, Gucci, and Chanel
Personalities, in orange, including Sabrina Carpenter, Zendaya, and Pharrell Williams
Products, in blue, such as bags and wallets
International topics, in lilac, with themes like Korea
Recruitment, in purple, with hashtags like #jobsearch or #luxuryjob
In 2025, crises are no longer confined to X—they can unfold on TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram… and now on Bluesky. No social platform is immune to the risk of negative publicity.
Brands and institutions can just as easily come under scrutiny on this network. To stay informed in real time from the moment even the faintest warning signs emerge, Visibrain offers an alerting system for Bluesky.
