Creating a Monitoring Topic with Visibrain

Visibrain’s press module operates in the same way as its social media monitoring feature, both in approach and setup.

Media monitoring can focus on any topic of your choice: a brand, an industry, competitors, a specific news story, or even a public figure.

To launch a monitoring topic, simply enter a list of keywords and/or hashtags related to the theme you wish to track. For example, to monitor Airbus, you could include the brand name along with its most well-known aircraft models, such as the A380 or A320.

Monitoring can be carried out in all languages, or limited to a specific one, depending on your analysis needs.

Tracking Media Coverage with Visibrain

Once media monitoring has been launched, several key indicators make it possible to assess the coverage surrounding the chosen topic:

  • Number of articles published

  • Number of websites sharing the information

  • Number of journalists involved

  • Total article views

  • Timeline of publications, impressions or views

The analysis period can also be customised to match the desired timeframe, allowing you to observe trends over a specific duration.

Example of use: analysing media coverage around B Corp over a 30-day period.

Identifying the Most Viral Press Articles with Visibrain

In the Articles tab on Visibrain, you can view the most viral press articles, ranked by number of views and audience reach. The press module also benefits from Visibrain’s powerful filtering system.

For example, you can filter articles by language;  such as viewing English-language press articles related to B Corp. This feature enables a precise and segmented analysis of the media coverage surrounding your chosen topic.

Visibrain also allows you to apply filters to access only press articles mentioning a specific individual. For example, you can view all articles that mention the B Corp founder or CEO, enabling you to track their media coverage in a more targeted way.

Understanding Media Coverage with Visibrain

Visibrain’s analytics module provides a detailed overview of press articles based on several criteria:

  • Distribution of articles by language

  • Most frequently used expressions within the content

  • Sentiment analysis (positive, neutral, negative)

It is also possible to zoom in on specific expressions to gain a more detailed view of particular topics.

Stay Informed as Soon as a Press Article Mentions Your Topic

Visibrain’s press module includes an alert system that allows communication professionals to receive real-time notifications whenever an article mentions their monitored topic. Alerts can be sent through your preferred channel: email, Slack, Teams, Telegram, SMS, Webhook, Olvid, and more.

You can also add custom filters to target alerts more precisely:

  • Specific mentions: for example, an article referencing a particular aspect of B Corp certification

  • Article virality: trigger an alert when an article exceeds 1,500 views

  • Source: receive an alert when a specific outlet, such as The Guardian, publishes an article about the brand, person, or topic

This feature ensures you’re immediately informed of the most relevant media coverage, and able to respond quickly.
